Default Emissions delete

I just purchased an 81 that has not been driven since 1996. The previous owner half removed the emissions system and the vacuum lines. Is there an emissions delete walkthrough? I tried searching but couldn’t find much. I’ve gotten the car running but the pipes on the top of the manifold just pumped exhaust into the garage and I want to get this thing going.

You'll need to plug the A.I.R. tubes, or replace the 81's shorty headers.

After that, all you really need for vacuum hoses are:
Power brakes
Distributor advance
PCV
Evap canister
Headlights and HVAC
EDIT: Also, a vacuum line to the automatic transmission

Much of the rest of the mess is for cold starts and bandaids for emissions.

Before you eliminate all the emissions systems on your 81 make sure the area where you live does not require an inspection for registration.

Thanks i I guess I really just need to delete the air since the smog pump is missing. What do most people plug the AIR with?

not needed in my area with the age of the car. I’m only wanting to delete since half is missing and I’d like to see if I can keep it running without breathing exhaust

I used these from Rick's Camaro (a sister site of Ecklers Corvette)
https://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-...1967-1981.html

More explanation here:

This was in my 80, which featured the last year of the cast iron exhaust manifolds. Your 81 has shorty headers. I don't know that the holes are the same, but I bet they are. I'd check, though. You can also weld the holes closed.

Unless the cat converter remains in place, you'll still be emitting and breathing hydrocarbons and NO2

Yes. And the Globe will become warmer. You know. Like 25 below instead of 30 below.

I didn't say that...you did!
What's interesting is that those that subscribe to global warming, the narrative has evolved from global warming, to climate change and now its extreme weather.
