Default Dynamat goin in

6 year frame off resto. 69 coupe. All new lectric limited wiring and dynamat going in.
Both sides of glass have a truck bed liner coating with ceramic, then this layer of mat inside. Getting close on finishing. Not this summer but next?

I typically after the dyna mat lay down the double foil sided insulation. Then the carpet. No heat or noise worries at all.

Nice job Cam that is going to be one wicked looking 69 when done . Dyna mat was one of the best upgrades on my 69 to reduce the heat from the side pipes running in front of the foot well .

Does dynamat make a noticable difference to road noise inside the cabin?

Do you use any adhesive on the back of the double foil or carpet ?. I have the reflectix I want to put in over the dynamat and then the carpet . I'm concerned about the carpet feeling like it or the reflectix is moving around under foot. Thanks for any advice GIL

Yes on the glue. I use the spray can 3M adhesive. Spray it on, let it tack up a bit and then lay it down. I also do the same with the carpet. Makes the carpet follow the contours a little better.

In my 71 coupe, I also used the spray adhesive to put relectix over the Fat Mat.... but I didn`t use it on the carpet. The carpet lays in nice, without any feeling of movement. However, I did have to trim small circles of the jute padding off the back of the carpet to get the push plugs in the back wall, the footman loops & shoulder belt retractor on the rear wheel wells, and for the dimmer switch. I also put Fat Mat & reflectix on the under side of the storage compartment doors.

YES
I have a black on black car with glass t-tops. It get's over 100 degrees here in the Summer. The insulation that I used was the Dynamat to isolate the road noise and Dynalyner to insulate the interior. I used the precut kit from Summit Racing. I installed it on my doors also.
My ac system will freeze you out now that I made this modification. It is so quiet inside too. All that I hear are the creaks and pops from the plastic trim panels changing temperature. Lol.

Dazaa, yes - I noticed a significant reduction in NVH, particularly body-related noises immediately after installing mine. The overall harmonics in the car are changed much for the better. I also added a layer of Reflectix on top of the Dynamat which helped further, but not nearly as much as the Dynamat improvement. A very noticeable and satisfying DIY upgrade.
Be sure to spend as much time as necessary to get the bare floor squeaky clean before laying down the Dynamat. I missed cleaning some of the unnoticeable anti-freeze residue (from a long ago heater core replacement) in the passenger footwell and needed to rework that section so that it would properly affix. Installing it in the car's rear section (around rear wheel) also made a noticeable difference.
