...Purchase 17x8" wheels and order them with the factory backspacing, 4", (although I've seen a site stating 3.5"), and factory offset, -13mm they should fit as the OEM 15x8" aluminum wheels do?
I'm sure this seems like a really basic question but I obviously want to get things right.
Thank you as always.
Regardless of the backspacing, depending on the type of wheel, you have to make sure there is clearance between the calipers and the "spokes" of the wheel. The manufacturer doesnt have an application specific program on their web site?

Actually I did find a supplier of the wheel company that did have an app program and I guess they will. I'm still a bit concerned that with the 4.5" of backspacing the wheel may tuck in to far while still fitting.
assuming you intend to mount the same size tire, can you check the current clearance of the tire/wheel with respect to the TA arm and in particular the bracket for the parking brake? Do you have more than .5" clearance?
I purchased 17” x 8” with 4” backspace ET Team III wheels and fit checked them on my 73.
They fit perfect with no clearance issues.
Any more backspace and I would have to move the parking brake cable.
I would call the wheel manufacturer and tell them what you are fitting their wheels on and they should be able to tell you exactly what wheel will work.
