Why my car wear the air conditioning belt in a very short time?

Thanks for your help.

Pullies out of alignment. Wrong pulley. Wrong belt.

I would suspect a wonky compressor. Either its bearing is seizing, lack of lube, or its locking up when it shouldn't. Remove your belt and see how easy the A/C pulley is to rotate.

1. Pulleys MUST be directly in line with each other.
2. Belt(s) MUST be of the correct size.
3. Belts are designed to RUN on the V-groove (walls) of the pulleys...NOT the BOTTOM of the pulley groove. Ideally about half-way.
4. Glazed pulleys will skid the belt.
5. Run-out, wobble, MUST BE CHECKED.
6. Do not take the MFG's word on belt sizes....measure them against the spec.
7. Tension the belt in the old tried and true 1/2 inch of deflection across the LONG AXIS between the pulleys.
8. People over-tighten belts thinking more is better....this wears out the Alt and W/P bearings quickly. Rather a little looser is better...see #7.

Good luck..
