Just noticed this about 10 days ago. Car doesn't get out at night much. The side, front and rear parking lights and the instrument panel lighting is not working. I have checked every fuse I can find and they are all OK. This circuit was working fine not long ago. I searched around on here and learned that the headlight switch is the weak link so I just replaced that and it did not bring that circuit back. Headlights work, hazards and turn signals work.
Coincidentally I recently had a problem with the distributor cap and rotor that was fixed by a local shop after a tow. Any chance that could have messed something up that affected this?
Dave, I can only guess at your problem but I have seen several Corvettes that have a slight bit of corrosion at the fuse clip. The fuse will test good of course, but does not actually complete the circuit. A little PB Blaster or even a scuff with sand paper will fix it. I would start there. If that doesn't do it, then it's time to start tracing circuits for an open. Fortunately, this is a fairly basic part of your wiring system so it should not be too difficult to locate the problem. Good luck, Greg
Did you physically test the fuses with a test light or just look at them? The little buss bar (the metal inside the fuse) can come unstuck from the metal cap and "look" just fine when actually it's just like it's blown.
Have you checked the smallest fuse with inst -lps on it ,my dash lights wouldn't go a couple months back and it was the small fuse .I did not notice if the park lights worked when it was blown or not .
When I bought my '72, it had the same problem. Could not believe how I resolved it: one of the blades on both the front parklight plugs had been bent over so that they did not engage into the female plug! Straightened both out and it lit up like a Christmas tree, so happy was I. Not sure why the PO did that....
