Late 71 Flasher ****

Does anyone own a late build 71 Corvette without tilt/tele wheel who can tell me what the (short ****) Flasher **** on the steering column is made of? Some sources say that on late build 71s (Vin #9000 and beyond) the Flasher **** was made of black metal and embossed with white lettering reading "FLASHER". Can anyone verify this? I know on earlier 71s, the **** was chrome. Thank you!!

My 72 was built in late Oct 1971. My original flasher **** was in the ashtray.

Latest NCRS judging guide says black plastic with white letters. That fits with my experience.

I don't have the most current NCRS Technical Manual but a few years back sent them pictures of my black plastic **** as it comes from a low milage car. However, my embossed white lettering reads: "HAZARD". Does the current manual indicate the words "FLASHER" or, "HAZARD". Appreciate your help as even they were confused at the time. Thanks
