OldCarBum, thank you for the kind words. I see a dirty engine bay from leaks, paint peeling because it's 40 years old, wiring that was changed by Bubba before I bought it, stiffening brackets built and installed with no regard for cool points, and steel braided hoses that are so dirty they look like the original black hoses.
I'm trying to clean up the wiring and vacuum hose issues. The big one is the belts. I want to install a serpentine belt, but that will cost some money because it causes many other issues. It just all seems sloppy to me.
At least it's a solid car with no rust. The rest is just work I have to do.
Right now my 73 is all original under the hood.
If you noticed I haven’t posted any photos of mine.
Your engine compartment is cleaner than mine right now.
I’ve got a new 496 sitting in my garage waiting for my body off restomod.
When I’m finished, I’ll be posting photos as well.
Stock '77 no more. 396 sb 509hp/512tq Blueprint motor.
What serpentine kit is that? I want to do that to mine, but it would start some domino's to fall. Not sure I'm ready to start down that path. But yours looks really tight to the motor. It looks like you switched to electric fan. If you have any more pictures, I would love to see them.

Billet Specialties. I'll work on a couple more pics.

Would love to see those pictures. It looks like the alternator and A/C compressor are in front of the valve covers. I would think this would make the motor much longer front to back. I don't have a good feel for how much space is taken and what all you have to do. Any info you can give is much appreciated.
Here you go Rob! Plenty of room up front with electric fans.
That shows a lot better. I see the electric fans are mounted at an angle and you removed the shroud that covers the vertical fan. That gives way more room. I would also have to change my spreader bar as the serpentine belt would hit it.
Did you rewire the electrical? It looks like you have very little wiring and vacuum hoses showing. Mine seems to have them everywhere.
Is the blue handle there that says "Blue Print" the oil dipstick? I have a 383 SBC and mine is on the other side. Can you put it on either side of a SBC?
Given all the nice clean black paint on the firewall and wheel wells, I'm assuming you did a body off restoration, correct? What fans did you use? What radiator? Do you ever have cooling problems? I'm assuming with that much HP you need to get quite a bit of heat out. The PO of my car said he switched to electric fans, but had cooling issues. That may have been many years ago and there may be much better fans now.
What A/C compressor?
If I'm asking too many questions, just ignore me. I ramble sometimes. Just trying to learn.
