Thank you… the 1st reply to my photos seemed kind of petty (see below) … guess that’s why it got deleted
Every one of these engine posts were the result of a person loving his car working many hours of hard work and talent to get the engine bay looking good… I would never do that… even if I didn’t like it because I know the hard work and talent it takes to make them look good.
Fairly mild trolling, but still inappropriate and unintelligent. I just posted a C9 rendering from a Don Sherman article to spark some interest in musing on Corvette’s future. Response; GTFO with that POS. Some people think nothing of posting proof of their low IQ in public places. My answer was for him to post a sketch of how he would like a C9 to look; definitely more fun for the rest of us.
Hopefully he thought he was being funny in a good way… the bad thing about posts is you cant see facial expression or hear the context which can sometimes give off wrong meaning or impression in text form. The more I think about it the more I hope it was just a comedy mistake… and I maybe I took it wrong… but it did get deleted before I could actually see the post..
I agree it is very minor…. The more I think about it..
We spoke privately… he was just being humorous and then he thought it might be taken wrong so he took it down himself… but it was too late to stop the email notification to me.
It’s just an honest misunderstanding…. No big deal.
i deleted my post of the screen shot… we all probably should delete anything related to keep continuity of the topic.
I love a nicely detailed compartment or undercarriage. You did a great job, not the sloppy rattle can hope it doesnt overspray too much deal.
What a difference!!
I did use a rattle can… but one section at a time… anything I did not want to get paint on was masked off or aluminum foiled…pulled the valve covers and stripped/painted them separate. Cleaned up and detailed the sloppy wiring/ hose job from the factory too…
This is how my 76 looks after approx. 20 + years in storage. It's scruffy, but largely untouched. I'll be getting at it in the next few weeks and will repost how it looks after a bit of detailing and maintainence

its .030 over now...its at Golens awaiting a baking and inspection to see if those cylinders need a hone or a bore....Im guessing bore and a decking. Crank may survive a polishing and everything else is getting scraped except the heads and that intake.
Good news...Golens says the block will cleanup with just a .010 over hone for 4.290 total with -38 cc dome which leaves me some more block if there is a next time. With a 119 cc chamber I'll be just below 11:1. THey also say the crank will polish up nice and the rest should go smoothly. The pistons just left the manufacturer and should be there this week so they can final bore an hone and balance. I should have the block and parts back by April.
My tripower is at Holley and should be back by the end of this month as well
