I just got a sweet 78 Coevette but sadly will have to park outside some days. I live in Texas so no snow just a few thunderstorms and the 100 degree heat in the summer. My question is what would be the best car cover to protect it from heat/rain. Thanks.
Check out Ecklers I bought a nice thick one but I store mine inside they have several types to choose from so a waterproof for outside would be of course be your best bet. Just get one that fits your car not a universal.
It's great. Very snug fit and is waterproof and breathable. I tested it with a hair dryer when I bought it and air does escape nicely and it is 100% waterproof as I bought it to cover when I was using my Vette as my daily driver. Let me tell you it went though a few gully washers and the car stayed dry as a bone. It has the security strap in the middle and a strap in front of the front wheels and behind the rear wheels to really get it nice and tight so the wind doesn't blow it around or off. I am very pleased with it.
With that said I still wouldn't store my car long term under a cover.

I have covers on 3 cars that sit under the carports and they are USCarCover. Blowing rain, snow, sun, and dust still make its way under my carports but the covers have served me well and are very reasonably priced on E-Bay. These are available in 4 and 5 layer and either will do the job for me but if a car sat out in the open I would recommend their 5 layer.
I've had a number of covers for both my C3 and C5 and hands down the best is Mid America's Typhoon class covers. Its plasticized sheds water and protects the finish near storm proof.
