Default 1976 corvette

My 76 corvette driver side door is hard to open what should I do? Since we bought the care the driver side door was a little tuff to open so I had greased up the door but it's still hard to when the door closes it makes kinda like a conking noise

Sounds like you need to adjust your striker.

I had a similar condition in my 81.
Adjustment of the striker solved the problem. There's a linkage that is barely accessible after removing the interior door panel.
I had read of folks adjusting it without removing the plastic anti theft shield around the latch mechanism, but I don't see how that would be possible.

If I recall correctly, there is a thread with a tutorial somewhere on the forum that can walk you through the process. It's a fairly simple job, especially if you have small hands. Mine are not, and the door is full of SHARP corners, so I came out of the job looking like I'd fought of a herd of rabid chinchillas, but my door opens easily now. I am currently finding excuses not to do the passenger door, but I'll give in eventually.
