Just another Corvette guy
It's been 48 years, a sway bar could have easily been added at some earlier time.
Not a deal breaker for me.

I meant too say “your not too far off” !
My original post stated that this car was driven here 2 yrs ago and parked. I found out prior to that it sat in his other garage when not driven, and he drove it a lot.
The appeal to it is not everyone has deep pockets and can afford too buy cars done or near done. So you look for cars that are savable. And you pick away when you have cash. So don’t be confused.

I agree low teens would be a reasonable price. And it is mostly original so could be worth decent money when complete. I paid about that for my 72 LS5, and the condition was pretty similar, but mine was driveable, but not very far, paint OK at 15 feet, but mine has NOM, while yours is OEM, but it's still an OEM BB 4spd and pretty complete. They both need a year or two of TLC don't they? At least to look as good as we want them to....
So I hope you "go for it"

I wouldn't be concerned about the deck stamp - IMHO it is real and original. there are many other CGZ stamps with the same characteristics.
The carb is a replacement as has been stated,
Some of the car has been painted, the stripe configuration is not typical production.
Depending on how well the paint will clean up and how nice the chassis is the car could be worth 25k - that would be ALL THE MONEY...
MID TEENS - if the kickups and trailing arm pockets are all good would be bought fair -- even if you had to build the motor and do the complete paint.
Pretty sure that this is the earliest 71 LT1 I know of... # 214 is for sale at Carroll Street motors in NH.

What is the TT date?
#214 is A17 which seems to indicate production got off to a VERY SLOW START...
Does it have 1970 Grilles (without the screws through the lower chrome bar... or 1970 eggcrates without the chrome vertical bar?
I suspect the Brandshatch 71 LT1 roadster that was at auction this past weekend was an early car as well... as it had 70 grilles and 70 side eggcrate vents.

Troy, regarding the rear sway bar, is it possible it is a ZR1 car?
M22 Transmission, heavy duty power brakes, transistor ignition, special aluminum radiator, special springs, shocks, and front and rear stabilizer bars.ZR1's also had Metal fan shrouds.
Power windows, rear window defroster, air conditioning, power steering, deluxe wheel covers, alarm system, AM/FM and AM/FM Stereo radio were not available with the ZR1.
Good luck and let us know how it goes... GUSTO

+1. It is almost your duty to get that beastie cleaned up and protected. That one looks like you can get back out of it reasonably.
