I'm sure this has been asked and answered before, but a few searches didn't bring it up...

So, what are these straps, found on both sides of the car (a '78) in the wiper tray?

The cables are to help keep the clip on in case a frontal impact.

Is there not a bolt hole on the edge of the guard within range of the cable eyelet ?

Thanks for that! I thought I'd gone right through the AIM without luck, but seeing the extract made me look again. Of course, its nowhere near the sections I thought it might be included in!

I wonder if would actualy perform as expected?
