I bought the kit with patriot headers. Fit was pretty good. A little tight by the trans. pan but I have a 200-4r. This is on my 79. Still have a few ends to tighten up. The middle spark plugs are close to the tubes but should work. Seems that they could make a small bend in that area.
I used the Corvette Central 2.5" pipe with Ramhorns on my 68. I was impressed with how well it fit on my old car. I used the 64 downpipes just to have 2.5" all the way from the 2.5" Ramhorns aft.
I also have a tight fit on the passenger side in front of the crossmember-- but I have a Richmond ROD.
Try putting 1 7/8 tube headers into a 3" exhaust all the way back, lol. Actually the headers by ARH fit perfectly. Z bar and plugs had to come out but nothing else.
