Default Wiring issues, needing help

Ok I’m new to the group so if there is already a related thread could you please direct me to it. So I bought a 79 stingray,& it’s actually in very good shape for the price I paid. The interior is complete for the most part, but the wiring harness from the firewall to the interior looks mangled and burned. So what I was wondering if a harness from another year would be compatible or would it have to be the same year?

I would guess 78-80 should be close to the same. You can buy new ones. A little pricey, but they are plug and play. Wilcox Corvette (Forum sponsor) usually has a 20% off sale on harnesses.

78 still had glass fuses, and 79 went to the new (atx?) style fuses, so the harness would be different for sure in the fuse block area.
