Default problems with rear c3 caliper

I replaced my rear disc/caliper which went well till I tried to install new pads,,had major trouble trying to clear caliper pistons which must of been sticking out a bit,,tried both ways,,installed caliper,,tried to drop pads in,,than installed with caliper,,finally got it,,but now it leaks,,is there a trick?? help,,,thank you,,i,m not a mechanic,,but now wished I had played one on tv,,,

Sorry about the above. I would address the leaking caliper before going any further. Once the leak is fixed, I put the pads in the caliper without putting in the bridge pin. I use a piece of wood a bit thicker then the rotor and insert it between the pads. I install the caliper and push the piece of wood through the tip of the caliper. Once seated, I bolt up the caliper on the trailing arm and set the bridge pin in place with a fresh carter pin. Attach the brake line and bleed. Some people use an appropriate sized socket instead of the wood. Some of the vendors sell a tool to hold back the pistons, but a piece of wood is all you need. Good luck. Jerry

I use that sheet metal tool , just makes life easier , but as said wood block will do the job as well.

What about the leak? You replacing or rebuilding? The seals are pretty easy to change
