Default No electrical power anywhere

Just got back home to take a look at a 1980 L82 that I purchased from an estate. With only 40,000 miles on it it looks new inside and out . I know the car ran as the guy pulled it out of the garage once and awhile to look at and show off his pride and joy. Had it flat bed towed to my place. Well I was told that the battery was dead so I purchased a new one , hooked up and theres nothing,no dash lights , tail or brake lights and of coarse no crank , click or movement of gauges. The cables are clean, the battery has 12.55 volts . I did look under the dash and hood to see if there was any added wiring for a kill switch , found none. Also wondered who in there right mind would put a fuse box where you can't see only half of it ? Is there a fusable link? I'm going down to my storage shop to jack it up to see if anything underneath is loose .

There is fusible links. One at starter and usually by horn relay (left hand fender well in engine bay. Usually even with the fusible link gone you will get some lights? Check the ground cable from battery thru box to frame. Even take off frame and clean and reinstall.

She's a runner!!!! As noted above and from reading other post on electrical problems I checked the battery ground to the frame. Sure enough the rubber cover was split wide open and the cable was bulged to about 3/4" diameter with corroded white wiring. Went to Auto Zone picked up a cable and hooked it up. BAMB !!! fired right up. Thanks for the help info on what to look for. Now on to the flat tire.

I did know about the car somewhat. The guy, a disabled vet that owned it rented from me for the last 6+ years and stored it in the garage at that residence. Myself only seen the car once. He didn't have a drivers license { to many DUI's } so he could't go anywhere with it except in and out of the garage. Checked out the flat tire, now a rear leaking caliper. Off to buy a rear caliper. Whats next???

my 71 was also sitting in a garage for several years with out being driven.same issues as yours. dead battery calipers leaking bad fuel, bad hoses and more. to get it somewhat road worthy again 4 new tires (old tires were brand new but 12 years old) drained the old fuel, installed all new rubber fuel lines, drained and flushed anti-freeze with new hoses, new engine oil, trans oil,. rear axle gear oil, all new calipers and master with fresh brake fluid, tune up plus a lot of rotted rubber on the car.lots of stuff can be next!

I talked to him last summer and he had said that the rear ca;per was leaking and that he wanted to take it somewhere or have someone come to the house to do the repair . I guess it was left to me to do the repair. Tires look new but are 20 years old. The guy at the local tire store said, you want what size ? Start replacing tomorrow. Belts and hoses are on the list also.
