Meep....poignant! Glad I bought mine when I was 20!
Derek...If he was saving for a C-4, he'd have been there 10 years ago! BTW my neighbor is selling a C-4 Convert with 63 k on it....he'll prolly take $2500!
I remember when that video first came out, it was posted here a few times.
I have never watched anything so incredibly depressing in my entire life.
I think it’s awful.
Agreed. Apparently the guy doesn't know how to save or budget. Taking money out of the corvette jar for a couch?
I like the idea that the dream never dies and life causes you to change your priorities, but how does this make you want to buy a corvette? It basically says you can't have it until you die. What?

Yeah...a bit of a downer. I ain't waiting...on my fourth one (03, 94, 08, and now 68). The 68 has been the most fun. Raw, dangerous, exciting and sexy.
I've spent too long away from home
Did all the things I could have done
Gone are the days of endless thrills
I know I'm not the only one
So long, I'm goin', goin' home
I saw the streets all ripe with jewels
Balconies and the laundry lines
They tried to make me welcome there
But their streets did not feel like mine
So long, I'm goin', goin' home
I want the sun to hit my face
Through oak trees in the open lot
Forget about the things you want
Be thankful for what all you've got
So long, I'm goin', goin' home
So long, I'm goin', goin' home
So long, I'm goin', goin' home
great video I turned 80 last dec. 6 weeks ago purchased my 1st corvette 81
Welcome to the Corvette Forum Ed. It's never too late to get an early start.
'80 was a great year for the Corvette as Chevrolet was ramping up to build some of the best Corvettes ever. The '80 was much better than most remember, but many have forgotten (or just don't know), how the mid to late 70's Corvettes had declined in performance and especially quality. Chevrolet had finally recognized, that the Corvette wasn't just a halo car, but had become profitable as sales had steadily increased, even as performance and quality had declined.
I think most of you missed the whole point of this video... For my it got me right into the feels...
It's about a guy who always thoughts of others before himself...
I didn’t miss anything. If the story remained that he was so selfless and incredibly unlucky in life and money that he couldn’t pull the trigger on a car, but found happiness in his afterlife, I would have called it cheesy but cute.
But that horrific development when he carries his little jar and then drops dead crossing the street heading for the dealership is flat-out depressing. The last thing it does is make me feel warm n fuzzy about Chevrolet. I think it’s the worst ad I’ve ever seen.
And there’s a new one out where a kid whose Dad sacrificed for him get paid back by the kid in the end (couldn’t find it online) that’s a great one, too.
