Hi guys! Another 9 months has flown by on my project since my last update. I ended up breaking a lot more fiberglass than I had initially thought when I pulled the original birdcage out last summer. Had a lot of glassing to finish before bonding in the donor, as well as life getting in the way. Found time this previous weekend & finally did it! I had to cut even more off of the door striker area to make installation easier..wasn’t too happy about that but working with the relatively quick dry times of the bonding adhesive was a bit stressful. Anyway I got it in & bonded! Eventually all the original rivet holes lined up along the back part of the birdcage too, behind where the seats sit. The rocker channel pieces I cut out on either side actually fit back up very nicely (pic #3) but I haven’t glassed them back in yet. I’m pretty happy with it.
