The only evidence I had was an old pic of that area and sticker before the car was turned into a banana when no doubt the decal was removed and tossed. It's not great but 4 sets of eyes all agreed it was 4-71

Damn, I just realised you're correct and new the sticker is wrong
Edit: That original pic was emailed to Zip so hopefully they will do me a new one.
Thanks 454 for pointing that out
Edit 2:
Looks like I'm in the clear looking at the order conformation
I would have probably stuck it on tonight if it weren't for this thread

Also, did you know about the other numbers that were on the original tag? Engine code and transmission code?
Not sure if reproductions are available with these numbers...just curious.
Good luck on your new tag.

Wow that's interesting I never saw the engine code and tranny code were posted on the door sticker. My 11/71 1972 model yr has no other code listed. Do we know what year that was done? Thanks Ike

I wasn't trying to **** on your parade, but I only noticed the date since your '71 vin# is close to mine.

Never saw it that way 454. I was aware of the other info as my red one has the original sticker and the Protecto Plate. The yellow one had neither and research only found the one produced or at least retailed by Zip. Who have not replied to my email as yet for a replacement..

I just bought a 72 Corvette (511076) and I am in the process of getting it painted and your reply caught my attention; I've seen a chart that tells me the month my car was built (Dec 1971) but where can I find information as to the exact date? I think that's really cool - thanks in advance!
