Default Problem reinstalling stainless windshield trim

So I just installed a new windshield in my 69 vert. This is my first time installing a windshield. I used the instructions from some of the threads on here and a few YouTube videos, used a 3/8" foam damming strip to keep the windshield height correct so there would be no gap when the trim is installed. I also replaced all of the trim clips. The install seemed to go fine and I'm trying to install the stainless trim. The problem I am having is reinstalling the long thin header piece. I can feel it go into all of the clips, but once it is completely installed it slightly bows up at one place. I can push it down by hand, but it won't stay there. See pics below. Is there any trick to getting the trim completely flat? It is the original piece to the car

It could be sealer interfering with the trim?
If the retaining clips are not new, maybe that one is corroded or lost tension.

Thanks. Clips are new and feel like they are working. My guess is that I bent the piece a little when I originally removed it. I ended up sliding the header around and it helped a little with the gap. If it still bothers me I can always make it a winter project and work on it some more. But I have a feeling it's not going to bother me enough to want to pull all of the windshield trim back off.
