Nice looking car! Now that you’re retired, you should drive it all the time, but before you do:

Your tires look great. If they are more than 5 years old, replace them before going further than your neighborhood.

All rubber components should be considered suspect. Start with fuel lines and go from there. Verify that they aren’t cracked or brittle.

id flush the brakes. Fluid is probably old and yucky.

As mentioned above, I’d replace engine oil and coolant.

Black smoke could easily be oil seals. If the smoke doesn’t clear quickly, I’d replace those next. Easy and cheap.

OK, so I finaly got a new door ajar switch and grommets but the backing plate is on back order. Also got a new Headlamp **** because the original broke off. Went out yesterday to replace the ****. Wow! Just finished. Took 2 days on and off to get my hand to the switch to push the button to release the **** shaft from switch. Then I found a round black plastic vent cover behind the seat. It goes to the duct under the passenger dash. But I can't figure how the heck it stays on. It has what looks like some kind of wire spring.
