Bad A6 AC compressor???
I have a 73 which when I purchased was told it had a new ac system (I assumed it was the A6 compressor). I have since converted over to 134A from R12. I purchased and installed the VIR Eliminator kit, checked the system for leaks by using air pressure, found none and then evacuated the system which I let set for two hours with no leak down. Now to the problem, when charging the system I get nominal pressure on the low side which was 39psi based on temp and humidity, but am only getting 50psi on the high side when it should have been up around 200psi give or take a few. My guess is that the compressor is bad or weak, am I correct to assume this? Also if I do need to replace the A6 compressor would the S6 be a good replacement or is there something else out there that would work better??
