Hello. I have gotten great advice from this forum that included getting an expert in the model of Corvette I’m interested in buying to do a thorough inspection before purchasing. I plan to follow that good advice. What I’m wondering is how do I go about finding a reliable inspector/appraiser in a specific area of the country. Right now I’m mostly interested in the southwest, specifically north of Las Vegas. Thanks for any help. Gary
Be careful when considering “certified appraisers.” Many of them get a certificate in the mail after answering some questions about antique furniture. Many supposed “antique auto appraisers” have never even sat in a Corvette, nor know the difference between a C1 and a C8, so be careful. Be sure to get someone not only experienced in Corvettes, but experienced in the generation of Corvette you are interested in.

I used these guys to appraise my 71' because they were local to me. They have "experts" all over the country so you don't have to pay to fly a local guy to the car. Good advise about making sure they know what a Corvette is.
x2 if this is for insurance reasons they may only accept a certified appraisal. Not sure appraisals help sales prices in general ....Ive always heard "so what" lol

I think what he wants is an Inspection rather than appraisal. I agree with you on "appraisals", they don't mean much.
When looking for my 1971 Ontario Orange LS 5 automatic in 2016 I placed an add here in the forums for someone to inspect. The car for me in North Carolina a gentleman answered the add, he had been in the C 3 buin so for almost 50 years
he agreed to check out the car came with his own ramps put the car up and sent. Me 220 ictures of the car
by the time he as done we knew everything good and bad he was great I made the deal because of his report.
