Where does the wiper door hinge arm firewall bracket 3953013 attach to, on a 69 corvette? I see the bracket but I don't no where it goes. thanks. Is there one on each side?
rvzio, I'm doing a 69 restoration, and the wiper door assembly was out of the car when I got it. What do the brackets do, I have the wiper door assembly back in the car and I can move it back and fourth by hand. without the brackets attached. Because I didn't know I needed them, and they weren't on the wiper door assembly when I install it. Just happened to be going thru ebay and saw these brackets. The 90 degree bend with the single hole that faces the windshield attaches where?
So the yellow line are the parts that go through the firewall 3 or locations across. They get an oblong small metal backing plate that you attach with nuts. The orange rod also slips through the fire wall shown in next picture So the orange line slips through this small lot. These L bent brackets are for attaching the narrow grill.
It's attached to the wiper assembly one on each , they are two brackets 3953013 #5 facing each other. The 90 degree angle attaches to what, single hole.
The two ends mount to the firewall and the mechanism toward the passenger side mounts to where the vacuum canister should be. The rod goes through a hole in the firewall to operate a switch that determines if the cover is open or closed to allow the wiper motor to operate.
