I have been messing with my horn. Installed new horn relay. I removed 1 horn to replace it. Now the other horn wont stop blowing. I removed the entire horn button on the steering wheel. The yellow wire in the steering wheel isn't touching anything. Would the fact that I removed one horn make the other one blow. I did unhooked the black/red wire on my relay to get it to stop. So between the black/red wire on the relay and the steering wheel there seems to be a ground short. I also removed the black plastic and little spring that goes into the steering wheel. still blows.

Do you have a electrical schematic for your system. It looks like you got a 68. I would look and see how the horn relay works. If it is a switched ground then I would unplug the column wiring and see if that stops it so you can concentrate on one section at a time. It could be the relay itself is stuck as much as a possible short.
Usually if a problem suddenly occurs it's not a coincidence, it's something that was just changed. Removing the other horn probably isn't the issue. But you could put it back on and see what happens. It just doesn't make sense though

Thanks for your info. Yes, it is a 68, sorry. I don't have a schematic. I have a new horn coming. I think you are correct, doesn't seem that missing a horn would make it keep blowing. I have replaced the relay with a new one. It seems to be working properly. Good idea to disconnect the wire harness on the column. I'm also taking the steering wheel apart to see if i can see a ground.
So... in the position your picture shows with the wire just hanging loose.... the horn blows?
Also... something I noticed is that the car has to be a 68 with standard column.... (ign switch on dash gives it away).
But what else I noticed is the wire, this car should have a contact set in the hub like this and the contact should sit on top of it. So if the horn is blowing in the position shown, that yellow wire almost has to be grounded out. The issue is that wire was never yellow, it was black. If you go to the turn signal switch connector at the bottom of the car you'll see the black wire that is supposed to be for the horn contact.
But I suspect that there is something else wrong. Possibly someone wired around the original set up with that yellow wire, I don't have a clue. How about posting pictures of the upper contact too, if one of the rivets is broken it'll blow all the time regardless.
I can turn and pull the yellow wire out. Horn still blows I'm sure it is an add on. I'll be checking deeper into the column.
Yeah it's an add on... it's the horn wire for a 84 and newer car.
So... what next... Then I'd remove this yellow wire and test continuity to ground on the black wire... You might have to go to the turn signal switch connector to do this first. So I'd remove the turn signal switch connector as shown in the picture and see if the black wire opposite the one in the picture from the pdf I sent you pings to ground. If it does you've got ground short somewhere. Possibly a relay issue... I don't know. I wish the car was here I could probably figure this out in an hour.
Well,,,,,,,I took the horn apart at the steering wheel. All looked normal. Now it blows!!! Sure nice to get a good blow, but I'm not really sure why. Beep Beep! All the wires from the blinker mechanism to the big connector under the dash were good, Oh,,, well.

Yes, but the horn relay is on the driver fender liner, next to the wiring harness, on my '72 anyway....and so next to the liner near bottom of the relay is a green wire plugged into the relay, that connection on top of the relay is a junction for alt wiring to the harness....always live, that green wire eventually goes to the horn button, just unplug it when/if it sticks to blowing again...if it stops blowing, the trick is the horn button wiring, if it continues blowing, it's the relay.....
