Default Head Light Won't go Down

Does anyone know of a quick fix to get one of my head lights to go down. Want them both in the closed position until i can fix the problem

Reach underneath and pull down on the center link.

Hanes Repair says Never try to close the door by hand.u might try to remove the vacumn hose to reduce any vacumn to the door. Or go under the nose with A pair vice grips and unhook the 2 springs on the rear of the assembly.

Theres no need to go through all that, the hinge point in the center of the linkage is easy to deal with. Its very simple to do especially if you are dealing with the lights themselves. You more likely to get hurt or break something reaching up under there and trying to get those springs off. Thats like saying to replace your tires you should roll the car onto its roof.

People really shouldnt be going by the Haines manuals anymore. They havent been a good source of info since the 70's
