Default Automatic choke

Evening Gurus
heres my next problem. Auto choke often does not shut off. Idles at 1500 revs. Any suggestions Thanks. Stu

You mean the choke doesn't open all the way when the engine warms up? What year? My 80 did this (and buzzed a relay), until I replaced a fuse. Otherwise, it could be a simple adjustment. Do you have the shop manual?

It’s a 73. When I start it the revs are high but when it warms up the choke stays on. Sometimes a stab on the gas drops it down but not always. I don’t have a shop manual

Just had same trouble on my 73. Ends up the choke pulloff was bad. It is the solenoid with small rubber hose at front. I used vacuum pump or suck on it. it should pull choke off. Of course there is the thermostatic coil and adjustments. If you look for Lars carb papers there is a section on adjusting and testing divorced chokes
