Default Quickjack Question

For those that have a Quickjack. I recently received mine and was wondering how long I can suspend my 78 on it with the wheels and tires on? I want to work on the exhaust and some minor oil leaks but dont want to have any problems with the body. Thanks

I've had my 79 jacked up for a week at a time. Keep the doors closed and the tops on. I was disappointed in mine, I have a Jeep CJ5 and it's too long to fit between the wheels. Also tried it on my 88 Chevy pickup and the frame length that hangs down is too short. It did work fine on the Vette.

I have had mine up for extended periods. There is always some flex in these cars to to avoid it as much as possible I purchased a wind up truck jack stand that I modified to add under the front crossmember.

Remove the wheels helps but I wanted a bit more peace of mind from any flex.

Curious which model do you have as I also have several vehicles that might have issues too.

Thanks

How dp you work under the car with those things. I can see doing suspension work but if you have to do anything under the center they are in the way. I put my car up on blocks made from 2x4's. I don't worry about flex because they go under each wheel. I have room to do anything I want on the car. If I need to work on the brakes I put jackstands under the control arms.

on shorter vehicles you can run the left to right instead of front to back. They show you apicture in the lterature about that. ANd if you frame is really long they make a frame extension kit that is just a bar system that sits in the tray and extends the length front and back

I'll try it, but I can't see how it would work since the wheels have to roll as the arms pivot up.
