Price Match?
HI. I have a question that deals with parts but I'm not sure where to post. My question is on price matching of parts from two of the vendor sponsors on our site. C.C. says that they do price match Paragon. I gave them the appropriate numbers and they said they would check with management. Got back to me and said no because they have a different supplier. Got thinking about it a I don't really see what difference that should make in price matching, the product is the same, from same manufacture. Am I looking at this wrong?
Thought if I could get it from CC I would pick it up at Carlisle.

Many companies do this. They will price match only on exact same item. Same manufacturer, part #, etc.
Anything else is only a similar item and of course "ours is better" so a price match is not valid.

It’s like buying a mattress. The stores change some aspect of the name on exact identical mattresses sold at other stores so they never have to honor their “price matching” policy.
Yes, there are a few manufacturers making the crappy flash chrome parts from Asia, but really there are several very popular vendors many of us Corvette guys buy from that are selling parts from the same source - just packaged differently. For good reason there are some small vendors that have relationships with some larger retailers to sell their inventory - Those are the places that will price match, so a question better put could be “which vendors sell parts from the same source or manufacture.”

With other stores you can show a cashier the same product on your phone in your area and the price is adjusted. They don't stand there and talk about suppliers or other bull.
Small thing but I think we get taken advantage of far to often, frequently with poor quality parts at that. Finished with my moaning, need to go for a drive and relax.
