Emissions Stuff Late C3s
How hard would it be to find the emissions stuff for a ‘81 C3? Cost? Is there a list with part numbers somewhere? I’m looking at one with it all removed, including the cats, but can’t register it in Colorado without it passing a visual and tailpipe test. Seems there was a emissions computer of sorts on the ‘81 that is still on this car. Thoughts?

Depends on how much was removed. I'm pretty sure that 81 had a unique carb, distributor, air pump (so exhaust manifolds with holes for the air tubes), and as you mentioned, cats (if similar to a 79, then it's a single cat). If you post a couple of pictures from under the hood (preferably with air cleaner removed), we'd be better able to tell you what exactly is missing.

81 had a special 1 year only computer controlled carb, so if that is gone then it may be tough to replace. (Other GMs of that era had them too, so they may work for your inspection, but I don't know for sure.
