Have a question about the original floor jack in my 73.....The handle that comes with the jack does not fit on the nut at the end of the jack..Its to small.....(That's the nut you turn to raise the jack)
I never used it before, never had to....I'm sure the handle will fit the original lug nuts that came with the car....I have had my wheels changed anyway w different lug nuts...
My question than is- if you had to use this jack in case of a blow out, would you have to have a socket and ratchet in the car to actually fit the nut that's Attatched to the jack in order to jack up the car ?
Only if your fingers were not strong enough to turn the jack nut to raise the car. So , either find the correct jack handle that will fit both or store the correct sockets for the jack and the new lug nuts along with a breaker bar. A short ratchet might not be long enough to break the lug nuts loose. I don't even have a jack and my spare tire is flat, the lock to the spare is froze up also. Now that I said that , I'll probably have a flat.

Lol...Reason I posted this was I would like to sell the jack...I removed my spare tire carrier and spare sometime ago...
I'm guessing its original, I'm almost positive along with the handle....These go for a few hundred dollars im seeing if they are original.....I just find it strange the handle does not fit the nut on the end of the jack...
I'm sure most 60's and 70's jacks this style have handles that are interchangeable...
