WOW! Love those Jags. How 'bout a ride report? How does it compare to the C3 in power handling and comfort??

I'm trying to talk my friend into adding one to his collection, so I can drive it!

...love the older Jags, just make sure you're paid up on your AAA membership. May even need RV Plus on teh Jag.

Engine criteria. Weight, power, ease of repair, price of parts, durability, size. Chevy v8 gets a plus in every category. Jag gets a minus in every one. One of the few prettier than a C 2 or 3.

I have always wondered why we Americans call the E Type an XKE. It has never been named XKE???

I did a few conversions to a 283 or 327 in my day as a kid working in a station.

Carl

Both cars are beautiful and timeless classics. For me you just can't top the looks of a 68 Corvette convertible, but the jag is a close second. Good luck with the new ride.

The E type roadster is the most beautiful car of the 60's, bar none, unfortunately, when the US feds mandated the headlight change in '67, it lost much of it's beauty, not to mention the horrible rubber bumpers of the mid seventies.

In 1981- I had wrecked my 68 Vette and was looking at a E-type Jag or another C3. About the same price at the time.

I went to look at a 69 Jag- it was about a mile from the owners house- had broken down and he just left it there with the key under the floormat.

My brother and I tried to get it running to no avail. The next day I saw a 71 Big block vert with a 4 speed sitting on the corner of a used car lot. I still have it today!!!

Oddly- having owned British cars ( first car was a 64 Triumph TR4 bought it when I was 12) have always wanted a Jag- but after helping doing a clutch on my friend's Jag back in the day- have never looked back!!!

I don't know why it was- but thought the three wipers were really cool as a kid!!!

Congrats on the new "adventure!!!"

Richard

Great looking Series 2 E Type roadster. Guessing a '69?

I have a buddy restoring one and it's on a rotisserie now.

Out of curiosity is it an auto or manual? Many years ago I owned a ‘69 2+2 auto. A couple years ago I looked at a 69 or 70 convertible that was a manual. I was shocked how tight the pedal configuration was. There was not room for my feet. Was the only reason I didn’t buy it........... and all the mud in it. lol
