1968 antenna hole location
Just a heads up. The 68 chrome antenna nut is a one year only item and to my knowledge, no one is reproducing it. The ones for sale are for the C-2's and the antenna mast will tilt forward.
GM changed the antenna in 1969. Lou.

Having to drill one out as well.
I can see where the hole is but had to be fiberglassed on the underside.
Looks to be a larger hole with a smaller part to accept the tab. What size did y’all use to drill this out?
Also the retainer is in terrible condition. @loup68 mentioned these parts are hard to source.

Will confirm with my anatomy book where that is.
Since this is an old thread, have any of the aftermarket sellers made a retaining nut that actually fits? #1691?
I think that I goofed in the above post, it is the chrome angled bezel that is different. They sell only one from 63-68. But the shape of our body is different than the midyear cars.
This is the part that is not reproduced, not the nut. Lou.

Before you drill, have you considered a hidden antenna? Or, perhaps, no antenna at all?
An XM antenna can lay on your dash, and your phone has all the antenna it needs already.
How hard would that adaptor piece be to 3D print, if you do end up drilling a hole and needing it?

I think it looks great without but will stick with it for cost sake.
