Default Lifting options.

I cant justify the cost of a quick jack, but have found a decent qualitly low, long reach jack that can raise the car on eithet of the points in red on the pic one at a time.
This would safely allow the car to have either the front or rear raised without any frame twisting and also allow jack stands to be fitted in the reccomended points.
Thoughts?

use a block of wood on the front cross member to prevent it from damaging it

A simple 2x6 wide enough to brace the cross member will do.

The metal in the center of the front crossmember is not strong enough to lift the car from, especially with a typical small cup floor jack that most people tended to have. The front and rear edges of the crossmember are lots strong but that middle area isn't. There is a tool available to straighten out the crossmembers that have been all bent up (I made mine, it's still out somewhere on loan hopefully making it's way back at some point https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...mber-dent.html )

Just search front crossmember dent for examples

Spanning the area front to back with something (2x6?) so it's actually resting on the edges should be OK, spread the jack area out to the front and rear of the crossmember
