Speedometer Cables or...?
75 L48 auto, driving today speedometer stopped and stayed stuck at 40, 2 piece cable, checked upper cable with drill, speedo sweeps up and down smoothly, checked lower cable, cable sweeps up and kind of sticks and slowly goes down. Checked driven gear, does not appear to have a bit of wear, does not wobble in its housing, all square connections still appear intact. After taking it all apart the Speedo will track close to correct speeding up and then will be delayed in going down in comparison to actual speed and then gets stuck around 10mph. I am thinking may need to swap the lower cable or lube it or? Any other suggestions?
