I have a battery disconnect switch, the one with the green **** on the battery of my 1970 C3. When I turn the **** to off, it seems to work as expected as the interior lights go off. My question is, why is the clock still working? Where's it getting power from?
Does it continue to run after a few hours?? If I remember correctly and I may be way off but the original clock would use the battery to wind itself that would allow it to run for a few hours. Once it ran down it would repeat the cycle. So you may be seeing it running down without any battery power.
Hopefully I have this correct!!! Ike

The original did use the wind-up system, would run for about 3 or 4 minutes as I recall and then the solenoid would re-wind it. They also move the second hand in the traditional tick-pause-tick-pause-tick-pause motion. If the battery is disconnected it should stop when it winds down.
The quartz replacements should stop right away when the battery is disconnected and the second hand sweeps in a continuous motion.
If it's still moving after loosening the disconnect screw, remove the screw completely and separate the battery cable at the switch and see if that changes anything. Some of the disconnect don't complete disconnect properly and leave enough touching that it might allow small loads to still run

The original clock should run for a minute or two after the battery is disconnected, perfectly normal. If that’s the case, congratulations, your original clock still works! Pretty cool for a 49 year old clock!
