July 1972, last month of build for that model/year. Cannot tell which day by the serial number. Post a pic of your trim tag.

June ended with car 25226.

They were knocking out 118/119 cars per day in May and June so at that pace looks like July 5th assuming they got the 4th off.

Date built code is in the upper right hand corner of the trim tag. On that day, your car arrived at the station where the VIN and trim tags were attached.

The prior posts are all correct. Look at the trim tag; the metal plate in the driver's door jamb. Date will be the L for July followed the day. I'm guessing your car was July 2nd or 3rd. L2 or L3

They must have got busy on July 3rd. That's 148 cars in one day of July unless they worked on Saturday July 1st - of which I have no idea.

During C3 production, St. Louis ran almost every Saturday. My 68 has a Saturday time built date.

Thanks for all of the replies? The previous owner removed the tag when he painted the car and lost it. I want to get a tag made and needed the build date

Then you're probably safe with July 3rd.

Perpetual calendar shows July 1 was a Saturday; no work on Sunday the 2nd. Tuesday was July 4th and the plant would have been closed. July 3 or 5 will work for you.
