Hello, I just purchased a 1970 c3 matching numbers car 350, automatic with A/C. The car was restored in 2013 and is in excellent condition. Only concern is the hood, could you order a optional hood. Is this big block or LT 1 hood?
Thanks,
James
That is the BB / LT1 hood by the looks of it. The BB would have holes for the 454 emblem, the LT1 had stickers
To the best of my knowledge it wasn't available as an option, only came with those engine packages

4 bolts and it could be changed to a SB hood (and paint etc), side mirrors are off something newer, no doubt there's a handful of other mods, looks tastefully done from that picture so dollar figures are always whatever someone is willing to pay. To me, it's a good looking car and I'm not interested in NCRS so I would prefer the BB/LT1 hood myself

The mirrors are the only thing I'd change. They're ruining the feng shui!
Thats what I was going to say. I have the same hood on my ‘69 small block because I like how it looks and could be switched to correct in minutes. The mirrors on the other hand look out of place.
I would leave the hood on, I like it! Changing the mirrors could result in some paint issues under the existing mirror mounts.
Also, are the rocker panel trim pieces painted black?
Great looking '70 Coupe.
Here is a photo of my '70 ... You can see the different mirror (convertibles only had driver side) and the aluminum rocker panels with the black 'insert' near the top..... just to give you a point of reference.....
IIRC All (coupe and verts) only had the drivers mirror, passenger was (at best) a dealer installed item until much later (when they went to sport mirrors?)
