Whoever did my interior did a beautiful job with logoed leather seats.... inserts on the door in Vellore.... but is anybody else's doeskin interior this dark .....it does match all the interior plastic which I'm sure is original

Looking at the pictures, I would say it looks a little darker than Doeskin, more like 81-82 Camel. That said, looking at it through a tinted windshield, under artificial light in a garage, and in a photograph, isn't the best way to judge the true color of anything.
If your car has cloth inserts in the upper portion of the door panel, then it probably originally had cloth seats. 80 Corvettes with the leather seats came with all vinyl door panels, while ones with cloth seats, came with cloth inserts in the door panels. The original cloth for 80 seats is just about none existent, which is probably why a previous owner replaced them with embroidered leather covers.

You're definitely right about the lighting the original pictures show the interior much darker
I don't think my velour insert is original it looks like the velour has light stripes in it but maybe that's what the original material looks like I wonder if anybody has a photo of an original velour door
if you zoom in to my door panel you can see the velour close-up

They look like original 80 cloth door panels to me. The cloth used in 80 had a ribbed texture to it, sort of like corduroy. If I remember right, the same ribbed cloth was used from 77-80, and then switched to a square texture for 81-82. Below is the interior page from the 1980 Corvette Dealer Album, showing the same ribbed material.
