Default Electric window problem

Hello I'm having a problem with drivers side window switch only works one way . Thought I had a bad switch so I bought a new one but still the same problem switch will only work one way if I reverse the wires on the motor to window will go up and then if I reverse it again it will go down pushing the switch in the same direction just trying to find out if I have a ground problem or a wiring problem thanks for any help

that sounds to me like there is a bad wire between the switch and the motor-assuming the switch is good since you traded it out. The motor picks up ground off of the housing, the two incoming wires to the motor are positive with one triggering up and one triggering down. If the ground was bad I would think that neither direction would work. If you have a bad wire between the switch and the motor the direction on that wire would not work, and if you switch the wires the other direction would not work... which sounds like what you described. That is assuming the switch is good since you replaced it.
I would test the switch with a meter and make sure it is indeed working just because it would be easy to do, then test each of the outside wires to make sure they are not losing power between the switch and the motor.
