Default Quickjack Question

Is it OK to open and close the doors and the hood on a 78 while the car is raised up to full height?

I would assume so, I do it all the time and haven't had an issue, working on door components or under the hood with the car off the ground. I don't know about getting into the car with it lifted, don't think I would feel comfortable with that. It has actually been recommended to have the hood, doors and t-tops unlatched when lifting due to reducing the chance of chipping pain due to flexing of the body. Don't know that it would really happen it seems pretty secure as it is going up but I still unlatch them, don't have the hood up while lifting it though.

well my 79 car has spent half its life in the last few weeks (since I got QJ), it sure has to be better than a jack or two and stands..

I open close doors , hood, replace heater core/ interior fixed in and out bleed brakes, run, etc.. I see no movement.. tops on and off..for extended periods
I do not put in gear or let rear wheels spin.. I heard that can bind up..

full height or I inch off ground no difference

I do it with mine all the time
Now if it's up for any real length of time I put a set of jack stands up under the front, not that I don't trust the QJ, I just do it to take some of the weight so it's not hanging out cantilevered out there so much. Figure it can't hurt the old girl.
