Default Octane Lighting LED Headlights

Installed these Octane LED H4 headlights. Love them. Did not have to modify the rear headlight bucket. The only weirdness was due to the wiring harness in my electric headlight mod. I had to reverse a couple of the blades on the driver side low beam plug coming from the headlight (which is really easy to do). I love the temperature of these lights and the throw is perfect. I took them out on the dark interstate and they did great. No one flashed their beams at me. Time will tell how durable these are. Since I didn’t have to modify my harness, it would be easy to throw in a replacement bulb. There were some small metal tabs on the rear edge of the headlight glass that I removed. Those tabs could have also been flattened. I read that another forum member had to do the same thing. Below is quick video of me driving around, some pictures, and the eBay link.

Nice. I have Octane LED headlights on my '69. Love 'em.

Does anyone know if these will accommodate Fiber Optic input lenses in each bulb housing?
I believe the original incandescent bulbs had the little glass "nib" at the back center that the F.O. pickup nested over.
I would consider these, but I worked too hard to get my F.O.'s working well, that I wouldn't want to sacrifice them.

Good question, I would like to know the answer to this as well.

No, they do not accommodate the F.O. inputs. (But I didn't mind, the brightness upgrade was just too good to pass up.)

So, are you saying that on a '72, these lamps would be plug and play as is with no wiring harness changes, on a stock setup? That would be great! thanks

I believe so. I think they would be plug and play. Further, there is no need for a relay. These draw fewer amps.

I have an aftermarket harness that is in between my stock harness and the headlight itself. It is used to activate my electric headlight covers mod. Purchased this from Richard454. Love my electric headlight covers!

When I first plugged in my Octane lights, the far left headlight (driver's side) would be in high beam mode while the floor switch was on low beam and vice versa. The far right side functioned normally. I tried switching those two headlights which did not change the behavior: far left bulb functioned opposite of what it should have: so it was not the LED headlights that were the problem. It was my harness.

It was probably backwards before, and I never noticed because I don't drive that vehicle often at night, and the headlights were just dim to begin with (which is why I didn't drive it often at night!).

I fixed by switching two of the contact blades on the far left headlight which fixed the problem. I am positive my harness is wrong somewhere and not the headlight. Don't know if I am explaining this well.

Actually, thank you. I sort of found this by doing a search on here and one of your threads kept popping up.
