Isnt that measurement going to vary based upon the number of shims used to adjust toe-in?

I just need an approximate measurement does not have to be exact...I am using this rear end on a hot-rod chassis and I need to get it close enough to take it where it can be adjusted with shims.....I am thinking 45 -1/2" but want to make sure .

Are you trying to set the toe for a rear end that is already installed? Just use the tape measure technique to set it. Or is for installing the trailing arms on a chassis that didn't have it originally (welding brackets in place)?

rear is already installed but has toe due to frame being narrowed down. looking for close measurement so I know how to fix it as the trailing arms are attached to the frame and will need to be moved. Frame is a 32 ford frame so it did not come with the 1982 rear end

We actually have a similar frame/project in our shop. The outside dimension on the frame at the T/A pivot is 47.5" and the inside is 41.5".
