Default 1972 Question about Side Pipes

Hi,

I just bought Hooker headers and side pipes for my 1972 Stingray and I have a question about the original exhaust. Is anyone make blind covers for the square rear exhaust holes or do we just leave them open? I would like a clean looks from the rear but without welding or a paintjob.

Any help or suggestion is appreciated!

Andy

You can check the Eklers site, they have the panel for the older round type

You'll need to fit it and paint it. I've never seen anyone offer just a set of "plugs" to fill in the exhaust holes. You would have thought someone would make something that you could replace the original chrome trim that goes around the tips and it would fill in the holes (never liked the looks of side pipes with the holes left open but you certainly see it a fair amount)

If you go with it , make sure you trial fit it first , don't assume they all fit perfect !

I fit one of these panels after installing side exhaust.

Definitely trial fit the panel before you paint it. Mine took quite a bit of sanding and trimming to get perfect.
