My 77 has the original Rochester 17057204. This weekend I found a Carter 17057204 at a garage sale. So far the primary and secondary rods are 52K & CH same as the Rochester. The secondary rod hanger is stamped J but my Rochester is stamped H. The plating looks a little darker brown then the Rochester. The primary jets are stamped 76C, my Rochester jets are 77.I would like to save the limiter caps, not that they will be reused but just to keep them with this carburetor. Any tips removing them? On my original they were very fragile and broke when trying to remove them.
Any other things I should look for in the differences between the Rochester & Carter?
Garage sale Carburetor OK so far.

When we were kids we went to junkyards to get carters. I had a 77 that had slow throttle response. The carters seemed better on economy and the secondary’s kicked in faster. All my buddies with 350s swapped out.
Found below on concerning Carter versus Rochester. The differences you found may be due to someone changing those parts after the carburetor was manufactured.
"Carter made Q-Jets under license for GM back in the 70's after there was a fire at the Rochester plant. They were made with Rochester tooling and are identical to the Rochesters except they say Carter on them."
