Hello, new to this website. My name is Doug, currently 19, and I own as of today two Corvettes. I’ve recently purchased a 1980 L48 Corvette and would like to share it for general opinions of others as well as would like to know if swapping the L48 for the engine I’ll post below is a good idea.
Looks like an sbc w/tpi from an L98... can't tell much more than it seems you have a place to swap motors.
Yeah I’m still unsure about the engine, as I have a 572 crate engine. But I don’t have the money for everything else for the engine well as I got that one with Assembly and etc.
Cool car-good luck with it. Personally, I would not go through the effort of replacing the motor just to wind up with a low-HP TPI motor. If I was going through that much work I would step up to at least a mild 355 from Blueprint, or something along those lines. Just my opinion.

Thanks yeah I’m unsure really about it I have assembly for that engine main reason I want to swap it into the car.
How does the stock engine drive and is it in good condition? If good I would not go through the hassle of swapping engines just to be different. Drive it and enjoy the car.
