Default Passenger door won’t open

Hey guys,
I have read all the posts about the locking mechanism and I still can’t get my door to open. I know that it is unlocked, the locking mechanism goes up and down freely. I pushed the tab up and down that Wilcox suggested and it moves freely, still doesn’t open. Any other suggestions? Very frustrated

Open the driver door to see if there is a small wedge about an inch long/1/2 inch wide screwed to the pillar...if so there should be a matching wedge on the door also. If the passenger door closes too tightly the wedges will grab each other causing the door to jam.
Reply about what you find.

To get the door open, rest a screwdriver on top of the piece of metal the arrow is pointing to and then give it a wack to open the door. At first it is hard to see, good luck.

I didn’t see any “wedges “screwed into the door a pillar, maybe I’m not looking in the right place. I saw another post about a piece of plastic getting in the way when you slam the door too hard. I’m waiting on a response from him. Thanks

I tried that, it is functioning properly. Still doesn’t open. Thanks

Has the door given you problems before with opening.....maybe the striker is stickin out too far or NOT far enough or is set too high which has gradually caused the door to "grab" onto the striker?

unfortunately, I don’t know. I just bought the car last week and the door didn’t open. The latch on the striker seems to move around, so I don’t think it’s stuck. I think I may have to cut the striker

Default Striker

OK guys,
so, I cut the door striker to get the door open and was going to replace the striker and noticed there is no nut behind to screw the striker in, it looks like somebody previously messed with it. Is there a way to access the door striker from the wheel well or other place?
