51 years ago I bought this Corvette .. Brand spanking new from Baher Chevrolet in Los Angeles California. ($5600) I have been restoring it for the last 3 years litle by little. This forum has been a great help.
From the time I was 15 years old I wanted a Corvette. When I lived in West Palm Beach Florida I would see the Pratt and Whitney Engineers driving their Vettes down US1. So... I decided I wanted to be an engineer and then buy a Corvette. Which I did. Graduated from UF in 67 got a job in California and bought the Vette in December of 68. Back then I was young and single now I am old and happily married and retired.
Anyway .. that's my story ..
I really enjoy this forum... keep up the interesting discussions.

Wow. Beautiful car and great story! Tell us more about your C3 - what are you restoring?
Thats an awesome story. Fellow Engineer here (just found out i passed my PE Licensure, whoohoo!!), and I had similar aspirations as you. I knew i always wanted classic muscle, I just always thought it would be a Mustang. I found my white beast a state away and couldnt pass it up. I still kinda get the Mustang too though because I get to rally a '68 across the country evey year.
Nothing beats the cool of being the original owner of a Corvette for 50+ years. On this picture it looks as if it just came off the showroom. Awesome. Keep driving it!
Martin (who was just a kid back then and had to wait more than 40 years to get a 69)
Great story and beautiful car. I can't quite match your 51 years but I just passed 48 years with my 72, ordered from Jepsen Chevrolet in Green Bay, WI in December 1971. It's all original including engine and transmission and the paint has never been touched. 47,500 miles.
I’ll just reiterate all the above. Wow! 51 years of original ownership is amazing. Congratulations. Your car is beautiful. You’ve done so well in the maintenance of your car over the past half century and a year. Keep on keepin’ on!
I recently had the pleasure of riding with this first owner, and I can attest that just like his car, those 51 years have not tarnished his spirit once bit! Still a kid at heart, as I suspect most people on this forum are. Have a fantastic day, and an incredible ride!
That's awesome. I've been into that Pratt and Whitney down the Beeline hwy many times, so I know what you're talking about. BTW, I've owned my C3 for 40 years.
You must have left the area, they changed it to the "Beachline hwy" several years ago for unknown reasons (I still call it the beeline btw). So where is/was this P&W plant anyway?
