Default Engine numbers identification.

Hi, I have the following engine in my '79/80 'vette! Engine number IM0615 9VP on right bank shoulder, block number 10066036. I deduce this is a crate engine, Mexican factory,Goodwrench post '85 built 15th June but what year? 89/99/2009? What application?
Help on dating the engine and which carburettor would suit please as looks like it has now a truck carb (Quadrajet) with ECM control which this car doesn't have!! A suitable replacement Quadrajet to source in UK or alternative manufacturer (e.g Holley) to fit the stock Rochester headers?

Thanks

The casting numbers comes up as Target Master/Goodwrench crate motor 2-piece rear seal "Hecho en Mexico". There is no application it is a replacement engine and most likely 89 or 99.
Cannt see how a ECM carb would work with no ECM.
What is the number of the carburetor?

Rochester never made headers, do you mean intake manifold?

Mel,
Thanks. The number of the carburetor is very faint and rubbed. Pic attached. Possibly 17082043 if its the same as the stamp on the other side???? Yes, I mean a carb to fit the stock intake manifold.

The 17082043 may not be a valid number, it becomes a 1982 Buick manual transmission.
The faded number in your third picture going vertically up the side is the typical location of the number.
Holley makes a replacement for the Quadrajet in the 4175 series of carburetors. Two examples below.

Thanks Mel,

I think the 80555C should suit as there are no emission considerations here in the UK for a 40 year old car. I assume it should be a straight swap and bolt on hopefully, even though I don't know the exact year of manufacture of the engine. I can source this carb from Amazon UK, at a cheaper price than US+shipping+taxes I think!
Amazon Amazon
. I'm just wondering whether I will need a Chevy specific throttle cable bracket and a fast idle selenoid or can use the existing off the Q-jet?

The solenoid is there purely for emission purposes. You set the actual idle speed with the solenoid and then disconnect it and set the carburetor idle screw to a lower speed. That prevented runon when you turned the engine off. You no longer need it.
Hard to say about the throttle bracket, looks like it might fit.
