I have been cleaning up the engine bay and undercarriage of my 70 L46 coupe. I have two questions about the first pic below. First, what does the marking indicate? I assume the A/C is air conditioning, which my car does have, but what does 76 mean? I'm trying to decide to what degree I want to restore this area. I have pretty much decided not to paint the undercarriage. I cleaned it up as you can see, but I think painting it is more trouble than it's worth. But the firewall and fender aprons are pretty ugly. I'm wondering if I should paint the upper part of the firewall and leave the footwells, and the markings, alone. What do you think?
My other question is about the fiberglass. After cleaning it up I can see a lot of the threads, particularly over the bellhousing area. Is this a problem? None of them are sticking out, but I can feel them. Do I need to put some paint, or maybe epoxy primer, over them?
A/C is for Air Conditioning. 76 is a sequencing number the plant used a 500 car sequencing. If you check your VIN subtract 76 should be exactly at a 500 break point or very close as sometimes Cars were set aside during the build. Drivers side would have PB if you have power brakes.

Thanks for the info. Driver's side is clean as I have manual brakes.
